Creating an account, logging in and CAPTCHA errors

On Valodrop you can sign up and log in with an email and a password, or with your Google or Discord account. The service is only for users aged 18 or older.

How do I create an account?

Go to valodrop.com and click the log in / sign up button.
Sign up with your email and password, or continue with Google or Discord.
Before you enter your details, wait for the tick at the bottom that confirms you are not a bot (CAPTCHA) to appear.

Which email addresses are accepted?

At sign-up, addresses from these email providers are accepted: Gmail, Hotmail, Outlook, Yahoo, AOL and iCloud. During sign-up the site may show the message “You can't use dot in your email address.” The password must be at least 8 characters long. If you try to sign up with details that break a rule, the site shows an error; read the message exactly. If the message does not help you solve the problem, write to the team.

I get a CAPTCHA error

When you sign up or log in, wait for the tick at the bottom to appear before you enter your details. Enter your details after the tick appears. If you get a CAPTCHA error, refresh the page, wait a moment and try again.

Why does my username start with “guest_”?

When you sign up with Google, you are given a temporary username. You can change it only once on the Settings page. A username must be at least 3 characters long and cannot start with “guest_”. For details, read What is Settings Page.

I forgot my password

If an account with your email address exists, a password reset link is sent to it. Repeated requests for the same address are blocked for 10 minutes; wait before you ask again. If the email does not arrive, check your spam folder too.

I cannot log in

Make sure you typed your email address and password correctly.
If you turned on two-step verification, enter the code from your authenticator app (such as Google Authenticator).
If your account was closed, the site shows the “Account banned!” message. In that case, write to the team.
If you think your account has been taken over, write to the team right away. If you can still log in, you can change your password in the Security tab of the Settings page.
